Summary
CHITS is an electronic medical record system aimed at improving patient care through effective data management and reporting. Created by the University of the Philippines Manila in collaboration with health professionals, CHITS is built on the customizable OpenMRS platform. It is recognized as a certified EMR provider by the Department of Health and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, facilitating direct reimbursement claim submissions. Future developments for CHITS include the integration of a telemedicine platform to enhance patient access and services. The system focuses on several health areas, including communicable diseases, vaccination/immunization, maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), sexual and reproductive health, skin diseases, oral health, chronic conditions and disabilities, mental health, health promotion, and cancer.
