HERA (Health Recording App) is an open-source mobile health platform aimed at improving access to preventive health services for pregnant refugee women and immunization for children under two. It is designed for both smartphone and non-smartphone users, addressing the needs of the 80% of refugees who possess mobile devices. The app allows users to enter demographic information to receive customized healthcare services through an easy-to-navigate dashboard. Key functionalities include appointment reminders, health information, personal medical records, and emergency contact services. HERA also features a custom module for field teams to keep healthcare center locations updated. This app shows significant potential for enhancing healthcare access for refugees and can be adapted for various humanitarian situations, focusing on areas such as vaccination, sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and child health.
