Summary
ONEHEALTH is an electronic surveillance platform for zoonotic diseases in Burkina Faso, promoting a "One Health" approach by fostering collaboration between the human, animal and environmental health sectors. Developed on the basis of DHIS2 Tracker with customized modules, it enables real-time collection, management and analysis of surveillance data, thus contributing to early detection of epidemics and integrated planning of public health interventions. The system, used by the ST ONEHEALTH multi-sectoral technical committee in collaboration with various ministries, targets priority zoonoses in high-risk areas nationwide. ONEHEALTH integrates protocols such as HL7 FHIR and API REST, and is open source. The aim is to strengthen multi-sector surveillance by 2026, integrating human, animal and environmental data for coordinated responses. The populations concerned include rural and urban dwellers, as well as healthcare professionals, regardless of gender, and including the general population in various health fields.
