Summary
The project combines regularly collected health data, environmental and climate data from satellite images, and sociodemographic information from longitudinal surveys to predict disease cases at the fokontany and CSB levels up to three months in advance. These forecasts are based on statistical models developed during participatory modeling workshops involving stakeholders at the district, regional, and central levels. The forecasts are then made available via an application integrated into DHIS2.
In parallel with the development of the application, a scientific implementation study is being conducted to evaluate the process of developing and deploying the application, as well as its potential impact on the preparedness of the health system. This evaluation is based on a mixed approach, combining qualitative interviews and statistical analyses of health system indicators.
