Summary
Since 2012, Medic Mobile has partnered with the Ministry of Health and Population, local governments, and NGOs in Nepal to implement open-source software aimed at improving maternal and newborn care. Initially starting as a pilot program, it has now expanded to 11 districts, empowering over 7,000 female community health volunteers. These volunteers utilize SMS-based tools for registering pregnant women, communicating important health events, and providing timely reminders for antenatal and postnatal care, significantly improving maternal and newborn health outcomes. In 2017, Medic Mobile established a strategic partnership with the Ministry to facilitate the national adoption of this mobile health program, focusing on maternal and child health.
