The Malawi Ministry of Health, with support from USAID, has introduced the National Product Catalog (NPC) application to standardize and manage health product data across the country. This application improves system interoperability by acting as the main source of product information, utilizing standardized product codes and mapping features. It aligns with global identification standards, such as GS1 GTINs, linking international identifiers with Malawi-specific codes. The NPC offers enhanced visibility into product information for regulatory, operational, and planning stakeholders, allowing them to receive updates on any changes to the master data. One of the key health focus areas supported by the NPC is vaccination and immunization.
