OpenMRS is a versatile software platform designed for developing medical records systems and has created three Hospital Management System modules for nationwide implementation. These modules include functionalities for Outpatient Department (OPD), Inpatient Department (IPD), Emergency services, Laboratory operations, Billing, Inventory (Stores), Pharmacy management, and Management Information Systems (MIS). The source code has been submitted to the Ministry of Health (DGHS) for broader use. OpenMRS focuses on various health areas including mental health, communicable diseases, maternal and child health, vaccination/immunization, emergencies, injuries, and health promotion.
