Gracelife Medical Systems (GMS) is focused on advancing the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems across Africa, with a special emphasis on Nigeria. The organization recognizes that existing healthcare technologies often function as isolated data silos. To combat this, GMS plans to implement an open-source API based on HL7 FHIR technology to improve interoperability and enable seamless data sharing among healthcare providers. This initiative aims to enhance patient care, minimize errors, and simplify access to medical records. In collaboration with SmileCDR, GMS is working to create centralized data repositories to improve healthcare delivery. Furthermore, GMS is pursuing grants to develop affordable EHR/EMR solutions and conducting educational initiatives to raise awareness about these technologies, with a focus on areas such as environmental health, health promotion, and other health-related issues.
