FamilyConnect is a tool that utilizes SMS and USSD technology to implement essential Family Care Practices and the new WHO Antenatal Care model, targeting improvements in health, nutrition, and sanitation for pregnant and lactating mothers. It facilitates the registration of women of reproductive age through Village Health Teams (VHTs) and healthcare providers. The tool aids in Catchment Area Mapping and Planning via VHT SMS reporting. The FamilyConnect-EMTCT module specifically offers PMTCT messages and appointment reminders for pregnant HIV-positive women. Additionally, the FamilyConnect-NCD module caters to patients with heart failure, enabling them to report symptoms and receive customized SMS advice for better condition management. The focus areas of FamilyConnect include Maternal and Child Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Communicable Diseases, Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs), Health Promotion, and Vaccination/Immunization, among others.
