Summary
IntraHealth developed OpenCR, an open-source client registry funded by USAID through MEASURE Evaluation, to tackle the issue of fragmented client information across different health information systems. By providing unique identification for individuals with records in various locations, OpenCR enhances patient tracking throughout their care journey.
Designed with input from Ugandan stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health and the Central Public Health Laboratory, the system supports epidemic control by allowing for the deduplication of lab test results, monitoring patient outcomes over time, and identifying individuals who have been lost to follow-up. The primary health focus areas include communicable diseases.
