The m-Maitri initiative is designed to support pregnant women living with HIV by providing them with customized weekly voice messages that focus on pregnancy and postnatal care. These messages address HIV-related health issues, remind recipients about essential tests, and prompt weekly adherence self-reports. Since its handover to SAATHII in 2019, the initiative has demonstrated improved health outcomes, as presented at IAS 2018. SAATHII has successfully secured independent funding from the Global Fund to sustain the project, ensuring continuous assistance for HIV-positive pregnant women. The initiative emphasizes several health focus areas, including maternal and child health, communicable diseases, vaccination/immunization, other chronic conditions, disabilities, and health promotion.
