The project utilizes provider-to-provider telemedicine to support trained primary health workers in managing infectious skin conditions such as impetigo and scabies. When issues arise that cannot be addressed locally, the workers consult the Bogou Platform, driven by RAFT, for expert assistance. This initiative aims to enhance dermatological care in four of the six rural health regions in Togo, where dermatologists are scarce. Launched in June 2018, with the Bogou Platform starting in May 2019 at 20 pilot facilities, the project intends to expand to 30 more facilities based on positive initial assessments. Its health focus areas include health promotion, skin diseases, sexual and reproductive health, and communicable diseases, with the overarching goal of improving the quality and accessibility of dermatological services for remote populations.
