IeDA transforms primary healthcare in Guinea by empowering healthcare workers with a cutting-edge mobile application on digital tablets. This tool guides medical staff through accurate diagnostic and treatment processes for newborns, children, and mothers, strictly adhering to national and WHO protocols. By ensuring proper diagnoses and effective treatments, IeDA enhances care quality and improves health outcomes, providing reliable healthcare solutions to underserved communities. The objective of IeDA is to sustain high-quality healthcare in West Africa and beyond, specifically aiming to improve care quality for newborns, children under 5, and pregnant women. Implemented by Terre des Hommes in collaboration with Hopkins University and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation. IeDA focuses on areas such as contraception/family planning, antenatal care, safe abortion care, postnatal/newborn care, and the integrated management of newborn and childhood infections (IMNCI). The digital tool supports healthcare workers with decision support systems (CDSS) and software designed to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficacy. Funded by research grants and donors, including GIZ, The World Bank, USAID, The Global Fund, Enabel Belgian Development Agency, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the project combines both qualitative and quantitative evidence to evaluate its effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
