OPENCLINIC is an open source hospital information system designed for the comprehensive management of healthcare facilities, particularly in resource-constrained environments. It enables the digitization and integration of clinical, administrative and financial processes within hospitals, improving care efficiency and hospital management. Used in several African countries such as Burkina Faso, OPENCLINIC centralizes the patient pathway via a user-friendly, modular interface, including modules for various functions such as patient records management, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology and human resources. The tool also supports biometric identification and statistical analysis, while enabling interoperability with other digital health systems. POS, a point-of-service solution for hospitals, is integrated with several reference structures and uses protocols such as HL7 FHIR, proprietary APIs and CSV import/export formats. Its deployment, supported by the Information Systems Department and the Global Fund, aims to strengthen integrated hospital management to improve the quality of care, with inclusive targets for urban and rural populations by 2026.
