The Healthy Pregnancy, Healthy Baby (HPHB) service, also known as Wazazi Nipendeni ("Love Me, Parents"), is a national SMS initiative in Tanzania that provides free maternal and child health information. Launched in 2012, it operates on four major mobile networks and sends subscribers tailored messages based on the stage of pregnancy or the age of their newborn. The service aims to improve health outcomes by raising awareness about healthy practices, encouraging antenatal care, promoting skilled birth attendance, and educating on postnatal care. Targeting pregnant women, new mothers, and their families, HPHB focuses on reducing maternal and newborn mortality through timely, evidence-based information.
