MosquitiaMed is a telemedicine initiative designed to enhance healthcare access in the remote regions of Gracias a Dios, known as La Mosquitia. It facilitates connections between rural health providers and academic hospitals through synchronous and asynchronous consultations, ultimately lowering transportation costs for patients. The project also integrates community case management using mobile devices, improving healthcare services in these underserved areas. Key health focus areas include communicable diseases, chronic conditions and disabilities, health promotion, and maternal and child health.
