Summary
Audiopedia.org is addressing the challenge of illiteracy among women, who constitute a significant portion of global caregivers, with 500 million women remaining illiterate worldwide. This platform provides a multilingual, mobile-friendly method for disseminating audio knowledge, integrating Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) and offline narrowcasting techniques. By the end of 2022, Audiopedia had over 10,000 audio files across 30 health topics, enabling easy access through QR codes and supporting local NGOs in outreach efforts. As a Digital Public Good, it promotes knowledge sharing and learning essential for achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The initiative is financially backed by the Smart Development Fund, a collaboration between the German Federal Ministry and the European Commission, covering diverse health areas such as injuries, communicable and non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, mental health, vaccinations, and more.
