The Malawi Health Analytics Platform (MHAP), previously known as the Malawi Analytics Platform (MAP), serves as a centralized source for real-time national health data analysis, facilitating evidence-based decision-making for government entities, donor organizations and partners. Its key feature is the integration of multiple data dashboards, which streamlines access to essential health indicators for various stakeholders. By automating data pipelines, MHAP has mitigated data fragmentation and reporting delays, resulting in timely insights for planning, resource allocation and program monitoring, thereby enhancing coordination among stakeholders and promoting data-driven interventions in Malawi's health sector. MHAP aims to broaden access, especially for program managers, district health officers and implementing partners, to foster data-driven decision-making across all levels. The platform is dedicated to improving data timeliness to ensure that critical health indicators are available for necessary planning and intervention. To ensure sustainability and local ownership, MHAP plans to transfer all administrative, technical and access control functions to the Ministry of Health by June 2026. Moreover, MHAP will use technical working group discussions to promote stakeholder engagement and encourage partners to share their analytics, establishing it as the central hub for health data analytics in Malawi, with a focus on the general population.
