The HIS Case Based Surveillance system in Malawi is a national database established in 2015 to manage data for individuals living with HIV and AIDS. Supporting the Department of Health and AIDS (DHA), it generates important HIV disease surveillance reports. Currently operating at a single site, the system has documented over 1,000,000 patient records and is utilized by around 20 healthcare workers, focusing on communicable diseases.
