Summary
REC EMR is an electronic medical record deployed in Burkina Faso's Centres de Santé et de Promotion Sociale (CSPS), designed to digitize curative consultation data for patients aged 5 and over. The system, developed with CommCare, is based on the elements of a standard paper register used in primary healthcare. Its aim is to improve quality of care, ensure traceability of consultations, and facilitate access to clinical data to support decision-making.
REC EMR is currently being implemented at CSPS level on a sub-national scale, with technical support from Terre des Hommes (TDH) and supervision from the Ministry of Health. The project is designed to be operational and targets various population groups, including children, adults, adolescents, pregnant women and the elderly, both urban and rural.
