Prematurity is the leading global cause of death for children under five, with about 15 million preterm births each year. However, a significant lack of data hampers prevention efforts. In response, the Ethiopian government is emphasizing digital health information systems, which pave the way for innovative health solutions. With support from the Born on Time partnership, World Vision Ethiopia has collaborated with SLK TECHLABS to launch mobile health screening kits that include telemedicine and diagnostic tools. These kits enable trained healthcare providers to evaluate pregnant women for preterm birth risks and ensure timely hospital referrals. This initiative significantly enhances access to critical healthcare services for women in remote areas, ultimately improving health outcomes for mothers and their babies. The overall health focus encompasses various areas including maternal and child health, chronic conditions, environmental health, sexual and reproductive health, vaccination, communicable diseases, injuries, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), mental health, and health promotion.
