Summary
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) contribute to 43% of deaths in Ghana and 71% globally, resulting in significant economic losses, particularly in low and middle-income countries. Challenges such as information asymmetry, restricted access to primary healthcare and specialists, and insufficient chronic disease management hinder effective treatment. To tackle these issues, a mobile and web application is proposed for real-time monitoring of vital signs and convenient online specialist consultations through appointments and video calls. This initiative aims to enhance health outcomes, prevent complications and early deaths, and reduce both transportation costs and time. The app will be available on Android and iOS platforms, primarily targeting individuals aged 35-70 who are at risk for hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. The projected market size for this health solution is estimated at $143 billion, encompassing various health focus areas including NCDs, health promotion, oral health, and mental health.
