Summary
SwissTPH encountered challenges in monitoring diagnoses and treatments for sick children in Nigeria due to delays in data processing, forcing researchers to wait days for cleaned data from health facilities, which led to inefficiencies and potential errors. OpenFn resolved this issue by integrating data, thus removing time lags and improving access to crucial patient information. By linking a CommCare mobile data collection app with the national DHIS2 reporting system for the ALMANACH health initiative, OpenFn enabled SwissTPH to automate real-time monitoring of disease patterns, significantly saving time and resources. The health focus areas include non-communicable diseases (NCDs), communicable diseases, health promotion, and other related concerns.
