The Viral Load Results Return (VLRR) is an open-source mobile application tailored for both smartphones and feature phones, enabling clients to receive their HIV viral load results via SMS. Healthcare providers can register clients who have given consent. VLRR seamlessly integrates with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and specimen transportation systems. Once results are available, consenting clients receive an SMS notification and can securely view their results through a USSD channel, which includes recommended next steps. The application focuses on health within the realm of communicable diseases.
