Summary
The electronic Mental Health Management Information System (eMHMIS) was implemented in Sri Lanka to improve the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of mental health data management. This system captures essential facility-level information such as client referrals, mental health disorders, human resources, and performance monitoring. By adhering to a minimal data set principle and eliminating duplicate entries, eMHMIS enhances the efficiency of data collection. Operational since October 2017 and based on the District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS Version 2), it addresses the critical need for managing outpatient mental health information effectively, focusing on both mental health and other health areas.
