Summary
In 2008-2009, an electronic version of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (eIMCI) was created for Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) to support health workers in maternal and child health. This eIMCI protocol adhered to the Ministry of Health's guidelines, aiding health workers in assessing, classifying, treating, and providing care instructions for children. Observations were recorded directly on the PDA, which incorporated algorithms to prompt additional questions for symptoms requiring further evaluation.
