The project is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) carried out by Medic Mobile in partnership with I-TECH, the University of Washington, and local organization ZAZIC in Zimbabwe. It seeks to address the 1-5% incidence of adverse events, like infections, that necessitate follow-up for voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) clients. The primary goal is to assess the effectiveness of conducting follow-up check-ins through SMS rather than multiple in-person visits. The study will also include a cost and sustainability analysis of this intervention, focusing on sexual and reproductive health.
