iImport is an online platform designed for importers to apply for and receive permits to import medicines in Ethiopia. It enables the Food, Medicine, and Health Care Administration and Control Authority (FMHACA) staff to manage these applications digitally. The system offers regulators and local agents real-time visibility into the import permitting process, streamlining approvals for both FMHACA and pharmaceutical importers. Applications for import approvals can be submitted electronically, and both parties can track permit status in real-time. iImport aims to enhance transparency and efficiency in Ethiopia by digitizing transactions, automating processes, and fostering collaboration among all parties involved in trade, particularly focusing on environmental health and other related health areas.
