CareAide/WeCare is a clinically validated digital health ecosystem improving NCD management, cancer care, medication adherence, and health system efficiency in resource-limited settings. CareAide is a patient- and family-centric mobile app driving behavior change through reminders, health tracking, and engagement tools. WeCare is a command-and-control platform for hospitals, governments, and insurers, providing remote patient monitoring, risk alerts, and population-level dashboards for health professionals. In a two-year randomized controlled trial in Malaysia (1,100 patients), adherence in the intervention group reached near-perfect levels within six months. Key clinical outcomes include: - Diabetes: HbA1c reduced by 0.6% - Heart failure: Ejection fraction improved by 50% - Asthma: FEV1 increased by 12% - Hypertension: Significant blood pressure improvements The solution also delivers substantial cost savings: public hospitals could save over $1,000 per patient per year, with higher savings expected in private healthcare settings, making it economically compelling at scale. The project targets adults, elderly populations, and health professionals, covering NCDs, primary healthcare, cancer care, mental health, and medication management. CareAide/WeCare is being adapted for LMICs to strengthen health systems, reduce hospitalizations, expand workforce capacity, and provide actionable national-level data insights.
