The electronic Health Information System (e-HIS) in Bangladesh was initiated in 2009 as part of the Prime Minister's "Digital Bangladesh" initiative. The Director General of Health Services (DGHS), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, implemented the District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2) to establish a sustainable and cost-effective national health information system. Key focus areas of this system include maternal and child health as well as vaccination and immunization.
