Summary
The DHIS2-based infodemic management system effectively collects and analyzes rumors and misinformation related to health from various sources, including national hotlines, community contributors, and social media. Contributors record details such as district, date, source, and topic of the rumors, which are then visualized on a dashboard. The system leverages natural language processing to analyze social media data concerning COVID-19 and zoonotic diseases, facilitating trend identification. Insights derived from this analysis are compiled into rumor briefs and shared with the national Technical Working Group on Risk Communication, aligning with different epidemic phases. Initially created for zoonotic diseases and One Health initiatives in Côte d'Ivoire, the system has primarily focused on COVID-19 information since its inception in March 2020, encompassing health areas such as communicable diseases, vaccination/immunization, health promotion, and others.
