The AIM Health Plus project, supported by Irish Aid, seeks to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality while improving child nutrition across four African countries. In Tanzania, since 2019, a digital health initiative has been implemented, providing community health workers (CHWs) with smartphones and CommCare software from Dimagi. This technology assists CHWs in delivering Timed and Targeted Counselling (ttC) to pregnant women and caregivers, promoting health and nutrition behaviors. It facilitates timely home visits, counseling sessions, and real-time data submission, enhancing health management. The use of local language audio clips boosts user acceptance and communication effectiveness, ultimately strengthening the health system through better data utilization. Key health focus areas covered include vaccination, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health, chronic conditions and disabilities, communicable diseases, and overall health promotion.
