Summary
The SATMED project in Luxembourg has enhanced healthcare access in remote areas by providing NGOs with e-Health software through SES’s satellite service. Friendship NGO operates two floating hospitals and one land facility in Bangladesh, leveraging satellite connectivity to send patient data to the National Healthcare Database. This efficient system improves triage and facilitates quick referrals to COVID-19 centers. Since the onset of the pandemic, these hospitals have treated over 10,000 patients, showcasing the crucial impact of satellite technology in providing healthcare to underserved populations. The project's health focus areas include emergencies and other health-related services.
