The Platform for the Management of Community-Based Health Workers (CBHWs) has been set up in Burkina Faso to optimize the administrative and financial management of CBHWs, who are essential to the delivery of primary health care. Prior to its introduction, data concerning the assignment, remuneration and status of CBHAs was scattered and often managed manually, making monitoring difficult. With this new platform, ASBC information is now centralized, facilitating enrolment, payment tracking and human resources planning. Although the platform is in production and expanding nationwide, it lacks interoperability standards and is not open source. The project, led by the Direction de la Santé Communautaire, aims to strengthen community human resource management by 2026, focusing on several health areas, including maternal and child health, communicable diseases, and sexual and reproductive health, targeting various populations, both rural and urban.
