GOSAIC is an innovative health monitoring system that addresses the limitations of current predictive models, which often use infrequently updated and coarse data on environmental, social, and economic factors impacting health. By incorporating fine-scale, frequently updated data on environmental determinants like temperature and air quality, GOSAIC enhances the ability to predict health outcomes, particularly for diseases such as SARS-CoV-2. The system employs machine learning to create geospatial predictive models and offers near real-time analysis through cloud computing, including visual tools like heat maps to track disease impacts and transmission pathways. As an open-source initiative, GOSAIC fosters global collaboration and improves the understanding of various health determinants. Its focus areas include vaccination and immunization, ophthalmology, chronic conditions and disabilities, health promotion, skin diseases, communicable diseases, environmental health, and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
