Summary
The HEQIP II project, initiated in 2022, supports the Royal Government of Cambodia in its goal to achieve Universal Health Coverage by December 2027. The project emphasizes enhancing financial protection, improving healthcare access for vulnerable populations, and raising the quality of health services. Running from July 2022 to June 2027, the final months are reserved for performance evaluation and knowledge sharing. A major element of the project is the strengthening of Cambodia's Non-Communicable Diseases program, which includes the creation of a patient information system for frontline health workers. This system, developed in collaboration with the World Bank and Mekom Solutions, was piloted in May 2023 and began scaling up in Battambang in August 2023. Key health focus areas for the project include Sexual and Reproductive Health as well as Non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
