The project focuses on providing telemedicine services to underserved rural communities in Mali, specifically targeting women and girls to address gender disparities in healthcare access. By utilizing teleconsultations, the initiative aims to empower these populations to overcome barriers related to traditional gender roles, household duties, and financial or travel constraints that hinder their access to quality healthcare. The project involves collecting and analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of teleconsultations, examining gender-based differences, and understanding patient-provider perceptions. Ultimately, it seeks to inform future scale-up efforts in telemedicine and enhance access to primary health care in rural areas, with a particular focus on improving healthcare equity and patient satisfaction.
