Summary
The TB/HIV Tracker is a national system set up in Burkina Faso since 2021 to individually track patients living with HIV or co-infected with tuberculosis. Using the DHIS2 Tracker platform, it facilitates the collection and analysis of clinical data, while producing indicators for monitoring HIV/TB programs. The system comprises three essential elements: a program for data entry via a web interface and Android application, dashboards for indicator monitoring, and aggregated data sets for statistical reporting. The Tracker uses interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR and REST APIs, and is integrated with other systems to enrich laboratory results and data from partner applications. Deployed in specialized centers, it is managed by the Direction de la Protection de la Santé des Populations (DPSP) and is open source. The Tracker's objective is to improve HIV/TB patient follow-up and clinical data quality, as well as systems integration, by 2026. It covers various health domains, including sexual and reproductive health, communicable diseases, and maternal and child health, targeting the general, urban and rural populations.
