Summary
In Bangladesh, over 92% of the population lacks access to mental health care due to a shortage of professionals, stigma, and logistical barriers. To tackle this issue, "MonerDaktar" has emerged as the country's largest online mental health platform, connecting individuals with psychiatrists and psychologists from anywhere. Launched in March 2020, MonerDaktar offers a range of services including psychiatric consultations, psychotherapy, assessments, and online resources. The platform saw a significant increase in professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching over 112 by August 2020. By eliminating geographic and financial obstacles, MonerDaktar empowers clients to select their mental health providers and schedule appointments at their convenience, making essential mental health services accessible to everyone.
