In Sierra Leone, four systems—mSupply, Channel, Pharmaceutical Dashboard, and DHIS2—are employed to collect health management information system (HMIS) and logistics management information system (LMIS) data, aimed at improving supply chain management. Since the January 2018 integration meeting, significant progress has been made, especially with the rollout of mSupply, an electronic logistics information system, across multiple districts. mSupply efficiently manages government inventory, facilitates patient-specific vaccine tracking, calculates vaccination rates, and sends SMS reminders for vaccination doses. It also includes features for monitoring cold chain equipment with Bluetooth sensors and recording adverse drug reactions. Although it has not yet been utilized for COVID-19 management, mSupply is operational and requires no adjustments for effective inventory control. The main health focus areas include communicable diseases, vaccination/immunization, and other health concerns.
