Summary
The Act to Save (A2S) project addresses preventable infectious diseases such as malaria, diarrhoea, and pneumonia, which are major causes of mortality in children under 5, especially during the perinatal and infancy periods. Targeting six communes in Niger's Dosso and Maradi regions, A2S seeks to improve health outcomes by promoting healthy household behaviors, ensuring quality care through community health workers, and fostering sanitary environments. With only 40% of births occurring in health facilities, the initiative supports Niger's public health strategy and utilizes the CommCare platform and Sinai's technology tools. Backed by World Vision USA and a multi-stakeholder framework, A2S collaborates with various partners to enhance child health, focusing on areas like sexual and reproductive health, chronic conditions, communicable diseases, maternal and child health, vaccination, and health promotion.
