"Challenges: Digital Home Healthcare has encountered several key challenges. Resistance to change remains a barrier, as some patients and families still prefer traditional hospital-based care and hesitate to trust digital or home-based models. Lack of funding, strategic collaborators, and limited digital marketing capacity restrict our ability to expand and raise awareness. Contextual challenges include the absence of clear policy frameworks for home-based care and delays caused by administrative processes in forming partnerships. "

Positive Influences: Despite these hurdles, we have seen positive drivers of progress. The government’s effort to increase the healthcare workforce by expanding nursing schools and training more nursing students has created a growing pool of qualified professionals to support our project. In addition, Rwanda’s national digital health agenda, along with engagement from community leaders and local health centers, helps us build trust and strengthen grassroots implementation. Best Practices and Implications: Effective strategies include involving community health workers in service awareness, offering a blend of digital and face-to-face services, and maintaining continuous dialogue with local health authorities. Policy recommendations include integrating home-based care into national insurance schemes and developing standards for mobile health service delivery. Technically, future efforts should focus on enhancing digital infrastructure and forming partnerships with telecom providers to make services more accessible. From a research standpoint, measuring health and cost outcomes will be crucial for proving impact and informing scale-up. In conclusion, Digital Home Healthcare is strategically aligned with Rwanda’s evolving health landscape and, with the right support, has the potential to sustainably scale and transform access to quality care.
