The Bangladesh government's national health facilities currently utilize a manual appointment system, which leads to long patient waiting times averaging 2.42 hours. This inefficiency strains both patients and hospital staff, adversely affecting the quality of care and patient satisfaction. Additionally, many patients unnecessarily seek specialists when they could be treated at lower-level facilities. To address these issues, a new patient appointment management system is proposed, enabling appointments via a mobile app, a web-based platform, or a toll-free number for those lacking smart devices. The app will incorporate AI to assist patients in selecting the appropriate facilities, provide real-time queue updates, and link with referral systems to support telemedicine consultations. This technological initiative aims to improve efficiency and enhance patient care across various health focus areas, including emergencies.
