Summary
Many low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) face challenges in healthcare identity management due to the absence of standardized systems, resulting in individuals having multiple identifiers. The lack of minimum demographic data during patient registration obstructs the transition to person-centered care and complicates health reporting for professionals. This situation also hampers the creation of integrated digital health ecosystems essential for achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). SantéMPI addresses these issues by offering a comprehensive Master Patient Index/Client Registry platform, which supports unique health IDs and enhances data harmonization, sharing, and interoperability in digital health systems, with a focus on various health areas including maternal and child health.
