Summary
To enhance vaccination rates in remote areas of India, we propose two effective awareness-boosting models: the Immunisation Ambassador Model and the SMS Reminder Model. The Immunisation Ambassador Model recruits community volunteers to disseminate vaccine information, resulting in a notable 10 percentage point increase in vaccination uptake, as confirmed by a successful pilot program in Bihar. Meanwhile, the SMS Reminder Model sends personalized texts to caregivers about vaccination schedules, contributing to an increase of 3-8 percentage points in uptake. Research shows that combining these two models is the most cost-effective approach to improving vaccine coverage in health promotion and immunization efforts.
