Summary
The National STD/AIDS Control Programme (NSACP) currently faces challenges with its manual paper-based system for monitoring and evaluating STD/HIV treatment and laboratory services, which hinders real-time tracking and long-term patient follow-up. As the number of patients in the HIV care system increases, these limitations impact effective data capture and management. To overcome these issues, there is a pressing need for an automated Electronic Information Management System (EIMS) that will improve patient management and the monitoring of HIV care and Antiretroviral therapy. The proposed system will encompass several key components, including HIV care monitoring, ART management, laboratory management, pharmacy management, and STD clinic management. The initiative aligns with health focus areas in communicable diseases and sexual and reproductive health.
