Summary
eGratuité is a digital application deployed in all public and private health facilities in Burkina Faso, enabling the registration and tracking of free care for specific groups such as pregnant women, children under five, HIV patients, as well as those requiring radiotherapy and EMS interventions. The platform centralizes a variety of data, such as the monthly entry of Ramocs (RMA gratuité), staff workloads, drug consumption, benefit payments and medical equipment inventories. eGratuité also facilitates the generation of automatic reports, benefit monitoring and reimbursement evaluation, and contributes to the transparency and efficiency of results-based financing.
The POS (Point of Service Solution), in production since 2017, covers the national territory and is used in 1,000 to 5,000 healthcare facilities. It operates in open source and integrates systems such as HL7 FHIR, proprietary APIs, and other data formats. With CHAI's technical support, the project aims to enhance the financial transparency of health centers by digitizing financial flows and automating data integration into EDM by 2026. Target beneficiaries include various populations, encompassing urban and rural areas, the disabled, the elderly, as well as pregnant women and children.
