Summary
The AMPLIFY 2.0 project is designed to enhance Malawi's laboratory systems by improving diagnostic and treatment monitoring services, biosafety, and infrastructure. It provides support to molecular labs, district hospitals, and Point of Care Testing sites through mentorship, supplies, training, and maintenance, ensuring timely Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) and viral load testing. The initiative collaborates with the Ministry of Health to sustain and improve PEPFAR’s laboratory investments, promoting efficient, high-quality diagnostic services. Key objectives include scaling up multi-disease integrated diagnosis and treatment monitoring services, strengthening biosafety and waste management systems across laboratory networks, enhancing the Ministry's capacity to coordinate national diagnostic services, and implementing continuous quality improvement (CQI) in conventional and POCT services. The overall health focus is on communicable diseases, targeting the general population.
