The project aims to improve patient health information management in the Pediatric Department of Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria, by transitioning from a paper-based system to a digital health solution. This initiative is crucial in light of challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and will serve over 300,000 patients aged 0-18. The digital solution will be accessible through an app for patients and an admin portal for staff, featuring services such as virtual scheduling, digital records, telehealth, and clinical triaging. A total of 100 staff will be trained, and a secure cloud system for data storage will be developed. Key activities will include solution development, testing, onboarding, and expansion, with a focus on enhancing healthcare delivery and streamlining patient care across various health areas, including health promotion, maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), communicable diseases, and vaccination/immunization.
