The Government of Malawi, through its Community Health Services Section, is implementing the National Community Health Strategy (NCHS), which emphasizes a community-led approach to health service delivery. A critical aspect of this initiative is the establishment of a harmonized Community Health Information System (ICHIS) to enable a multi-directional flow of health data. To facilitate the development of ICHIS, the Ministry of Health is collaborating with the University of Malawi's Computer Science Department. This mobile point-of-care system aims to collect, analyze, interpret, and report community health data, focusing on areas such as health promotion, vaccination/immunization, maternal and child health, and mental health.
